#21 Expect glitz and glamour at the brilliant Dakota Deluxe this holiday season.

The festive season raised its head last week as we were invited to try out the outstanding new menus being offered at Dakota Deluxe in Leeds.

With a five star rating on Trip Advisor and ranked as the best hotel in Leeds, it is fair to say when we were asked to visit last week to try out their seasonal menus, we were quick with our reply. Dakota Deluxe offers an elegance hard to find elsewhere in Leeds. Guests are welcomed in style with an interior that sets a sophisticated tone. Having visited before, it is quite clear that Dakota Deluxe is a place which means business whilst also providing a backdrop for those who want to kick back, relax and enjoy an excellent experience in fine food and drink.

It is worth mentioning at this point that Dakota Deluxe is part of a small group of exclusive hotels which command exceptional standards. Floor to ceiling windows for example in the 'Boardroom' make the perfect backdrop for corporate events. Similarly, expect a dedicated events team to host private parties for up to 150 guests on the magnificent terrace and first floor cocktail lounge, Salon Prive.

After a champagne start we were taken to our seats this evening to try the Festive Menu - one of the three menus being offered by Dakota Deluxe this season. It felt like Christmas had well and truly landed as we dined on starters like the chicken liver parfait with a delicious spiced plum chutney and toasted brioche. Other options included a smoked salmon blini with a creme fraiche cavier and a more traditional butternut squash and sweet potato soup. The food here is excellent. The menu is well thought through. The food arrived exceptionally fresh and very well presented. Each of the main courses for example are decorated with seasonal goose fat potatoes and roasted vegetables. On top of all this, service is outstanding. The team at Dakota are hard working, professional and care about their guests experience. They take pride in their work.

Our courses this evening continued with a fantastic slow cooked beef shoulder in glaze and a poached salmon fillet in a chestnut crumb and champagne veloute. The food is local at Dakota with a nod in the direction of locally reared Yorkshire turkey whilst the vegetarian friendly pithier of artichoke celebrates a delicious accompaniment of a Harrogate blue cheese. Our last course served up a choice of either traditional Christmas pudding, a dark chocolate and orange delice, glazed lemon tart or cheese selection.

We finished our drinks of tea and coffee before leaving upstairs to the main bar of Dakota. As we did so, we thanked our hosts for a fantastic evening. We took our coats and returned to the streets of Leeds which were by now showing all the signs of Autumn. If there is one place to visit this Christmas, make sure it is Dakota Deluxe.
